Common questions
I moved photos but my storage didn't change.
iOS keeps them in Recently Deleted for up to 30 days. Open Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted → Select → Delete All. CleanCut cannot empty that album for you; Apple keeps that control with you.
I deleted something by mistake.
Open Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted, select the item and tap Recover. Items stay there for up to 30 days.
The scan says my library is still loading.
Large libraries load in the background in batches; every tab works while that happens. The full duplicate scan starts as soon as loading finishes.
Some Declutter reviews say "Index needed".
Receipts, codes, blur and passes are recognised on-device by the Private AI index. Tap "Build Private AI index" on the Declutter page or "Update" in Discover. It runs in the background and uploads nothing.
A "possible match" isn't the right person.
Open the person, select the face and tap "Not [name]", or move it to the right person. Every answer sharpens the next round of suggestions. CleanCut never claims two people are the same.
How do I restore my purchase on a new iPhone?
Settings in the app → Restore Purchases, signed in with the same Apple Account. It is free.
How do I get a refund?
Apple handles all in-app purchase refunds. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find CleanCut Lifetime and choose "Request a refund". Apple usually decides within 48 hours.
How do I delete my data?
There is no account and no server copy. In the app, Settings → Erase private index removes the local index at once. Deleting the app removes everything it stored. Your photos are never touched by either action.
Does CleanCut work with limited photo access?
Yes. It reviews only the photos you allowed. Tap the "Reviewing selected access" banner to add more.
Requirements
iPhone or iPad on iOS 17 or later. Apple's on-device language model features are used automatically on iOS 26 devices that support Apple Intelligence.
